Die Besitzer der Orca's, Delfine 🐬🐋 machen Kasse 💰 💰 und erklären zynisch, dass die Tiere freiwillig handeln und sich amüsieren. „Freiwillig“ heißt: kein Trick - kein Essen. Die Hartnäckigsten werden bestraft. Die Besucher sehen „lächelnde“ Delfingesichter, hören lustige Musik und glauben an solche Lügen. Aber fragen sie sich, wie die Tiere dorthin kommen? Wie die Bedingungen sind, unter denen sie leben? Das Becken ist 12-14 Meter tief. Reicht es für einen 8-10 Meter langen Orca oder für einen 6 Meter langen Beluga? Und was ist mit Hygiene? Dieses Problem wird einfach gelöst - durch Chlor oder ähnliche Zusätze im Wasser. Die Tiere können davon Augen- oder Hautleiden bekommen. Nicht selten sterben sie an Lungenentzündung oder Infektionen. Heute leben 59 Orcas in Delfinarien auf der ganzen Welt. Die meisten haben Probleme mit Zähnen, denn durch den Stress nagen viele an den Wänden oder Gattern der Becken und reiben dabei ihren Zahnschmelz ab, der Nervenbahnen schützt. So entsteht ein direkter Weg zur Infektion. Im Januar 2019 starb im Delfinarium in Orlando der Schwertwal Kayla. Sie war erst 30 Jahre alt. In der freien Bahn wäre sie 50-80 Jahre alt geworden. Kayla ist der einzige Wal, der so lange im Gefängnis überlebt hat. Von den in Gefangenschaft geborenen hat noch keiner die 30-Jahres-Linie überschritten. In den letzten 40 Jahren wurden nur 70 Wale in Gefangenschaft geboren. 37 von ihnen sind bereits tot. Weitere 30 wurden tot geboren oder starben im Mutterleib.

    Since you worked with these amazing creatures would you say that they can feel and understand the emotions you feel towards them?

      As trainers, we would observe a ton. We would go out and watch the dynamics of how they interacted with one another. We had too. And we always had to go with our gut if something felt off.

      Not as heartbroken as every traumatized and mistreated orca (by way of the captive conditions they were subjected to) that was ripped away from their family…..I don’t blame the trainers, but these majestic and brilliant creatures deserve better than a life in captivity. When will we learn that humans are not the only sentient beings on Earth?

      @@SilentHonor2012 Most of these were born in captivity. They have a whale family right there living with them, they are not alone. How do you know that they are unhappy? They are busy and stimulated, have a great diet and health care. They are hardly being abused.! Our dogs and cats are “in captivity” - some even live in city apartments! Is that wrong too? Animals are not people. They are not our equals.

Animals that have been domesticated for thousands of years and have become companions of humans cannot be compared with animals that cannot exist happily in any other environment, but that which they were meant for. Thousands of studies support this.

    Incredible relationship between the orca and the trainer. However, I don't agree with orcas living in captivity for entertainment purposes.

      I saw that you asked me why I left. I did everything that I could have ever dreamed of doing. Working with sea lions, beluga whales, dolphins to killer whales.
